The world celebrates Children’s Day every year on 20th November in honor of children. The UN General Assembly first time celebrated the day on November 20, 1959,  to commemorate the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.

People across the globe are celebrating the day. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has also given a special message on the occasion of Universal Children’s Day.

He said,

“Pakistan joins the world community today in celebrating the Universal Children’s Day 2020, which is an occasion for all of us to reaffirm our commitment to the fundamental principles laid down in the Constitution of Pakistan, United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.”

He went on to write,

“Children are the most precious resource of any nation and the sole guarantee for its future. The Government of Pakistan is fully cognizant of its responsibilities towards our children and is determinedly striving to ensure that child’s rights to inclusive development, education, healthcare, participation, dignity, and security, as envisaged in the United Nations Convention on the Rights are implemented.”

To ensure the protection of children, Imran Khan said,

“The present Government has initiated various programs to ensure the protection of children’s rights in the country. A National Commission on the Rights of Child has been set up which monitors child rights situation in the country.”
