Pakistan Peoples Party Leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Muslim League Nawaz Vice President Maryam Nawaz will hold important meeting to mull over plans for ousting Imran Khan’s government.
According to the details, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is reportedly arriving in Lahore today and will have a meeting with PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz before the PDM meeting.
The PDM meeting will take place on Friday (tomorrow) at residence of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore.
Senior vice president of the PDM Senator Sherry Rehman of the PPP will also be part of the delegation of her party chief Bilawal Bhutto.
Nawaz Sharif and former President Asif Ali Zardari will address the PDM summit through video. According to the sources, Lahore meeting of the PDM on Friday will take major decisions and finalize long-term strategy to oust the incumbent government for which all PDM component parties are united.
On Wednesday, the Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed announced that PML-N supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s passport will be cancelled on February 16.
Speaking to reporters in Islamabad, he said the opposition had been “exposed” as money launderers and people who obtained iqamas (work permit) because they were not honest with the country.
“Why did all these people use to take iqamas? If I as the interior minister obtain an iqama, it means there is something fishy and I don’t have faith in my land,” he said.
The minister said all the “thieves” got united when their wealth obtained through money laundering and corruption was exposed and claimed that they were being victimized.
Nawaz has been living in London since November last year after he was allowed to leave the country for medical treatment.
