The Peshawar local administration has imposed a smart lockdown in more areas amid the spike in the novel coronavirus cases.
According to the details, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar has ordered to impose smart lockdown in:
- Phase 1 of Hayatabad’s Sector D
- Three streets in Haji Camp’s Sethi Town
- Ghalib Street
- River Kabul Road
- Charsadda Road
As per the order, the entry and exit points have been sealed and people are instructed to not lo leave their houses unless absolutely necessary. Whereas wearing face masks in public has been made mandatory.
In addition, the orders also notified that all shops except pharmacies, food supplies, tandoors and general stores remain closed whereas there will be no public gatherings.
The congregations in mosques have been restricted to five people. The lockdown will come into force from 6 pm today and will last until further notice.
It may be recalled that on December 11th on the directives of Lahore Deputy Commissioner Muddasir Riaz, the local administration sealed 55 shops and eight restaurants for violating COVID-19 health protocols.
Five shops in Marble Achara Market and Terrace Café were also sealed by the assistant commissioner of Model Town. Similarly, the Cantt assistant commissioner sealed two wedding halls, eight shops, and three restaurants sealed, while these were also fined Rs 46,000. 35 shops in Thokar Ada, Gulshan-e-Ravi, and Chobarjee were also sealed along with several others in Paragon Society.
