Punjab Police on Wednesday arrested DJ Butt, who was given the responsibility for a sound system for the upcoming Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Lahore Jalsa.
According to the details, numerous videos also surfaced on social media that showed the arrest of DJ Butt. As per reports, he was taken to Model Town police station.
DJ Butt had been a permanent feature at Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) rallies and major party events. However, he left the PTI and currently has been hired for PDM rallies.
Earlier Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that while the government will not allow the opposition from holding any rally, it will not stop the PDM from holding its rally in Lahore.
However, the PM said FIR will be lodged against the organizers, from the sound system handlers to the ground organizers.
Then on Tuesday, 11 cases against PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz and 42 other party workers were registered by the Lahore police.
The FIR stated that the suspects had gathered over 600 people during a pandemic and blocked traffic in multiple parts of the city. “Maryam’s speech contained hate speech,” it read.
