Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi has on Wednesday emphasized on promoting international diplomacy for reducing tension and resolution of conflicts.

During a discussion organized by a Turkish channel via video link, FM Qureshi said Kashmir is the oldest issue of South Asia, pending on UN Security Council’s agenda.

He said the situation has further deteriorated in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

The Foreign Minister said the international community should know that any confrontation between two nuclear powers, Pakistan and India, will pose a serious threat to global peace.

About Afghanistan, FM Qureshi added that peace in Afghanistan and regional stability will remain under threat if the world does not pay any heed to the situation in South Asia.

Further discussing the ongoing pandemic situation, the Foreign Minister stressed the need for collective and global efforts to protect humanity by ensuring the availability of necessary medical equipment, vaccine, and financial support to all, especially the poor countries.

Earlier, Shah Mahmood Qureshi had lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan for exposing Indian brutalities in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).

He said Imran Khan apprised the international community about unilateral actions by India in Jammu and Kashmir communication blackout, use of pellet guns against innocent civilians, the imposition of black laws, attempts to change the demography of the area by amending the domicile rules, grave human rights abuses and violation of international laws and Geneva Conventions in IIOJK.

The premier had made it clear that New Delhi is playing with peace of the region due to its adversarial polices, he added.

Also, PM Imran had highlighted the Kashmir Issue once again on the international platform. The premier also discussed how Pakistan has dealt with the coronavirus pandemic.

“Peace is needed to give rights to citizens, We opted for the smart lockdown to save our people from COVID, Government policies aim to increase living standards of citizens, A new arms race is underway between the new opposition forces,” said the PM.
