Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi has on Wednesday said that the world community including United Nations (UN) and OIC to play their part for a peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute.
Today, on eve of Human Rights Day at International Parliamentary Kashmir Conference, FM Qureshi appealed to the Muslim countries to use their political influence to prevent India from committing atrocities in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The Foreign Minister said the Kashmiris are continuously being subjected to a brutal military siege and inhuman restrictions.
He also urged world powers to pressurize India to adhere to its international human rights obligations.
Counting on Pakistan’s efforts to highlight the Kashmir issue at international level, he said through its successful foreign policy and narrative building efforts.
Pakistan has successfully countered Indian narrative on terrorism and Kashmir, he added.
He said world is no longer buying Indian narrative on Kashmir blindly due to Pakistan’s efforts.
He also stressed on promoting parliamentary diplomacy to highlight the Kashmir dispute.
On the other hand, in his Tweet on Wednesday, FM Qureshi wrote, “Today, I spoke at Int’l Parliamentary Kashmir Conference w/ a diversity of global parliamentarians on galvanizing world conscience to ensure peaceful resolution of Jammu & Kashmir dispute & demand end of devastating human rights violations in IoJK,”
He further added, “Kashmiris right to self-determination is inalienable. It is time that the world played its part in resolving this dispute peacefully and & justly; the long suffering Kashmiri people deserve nothing less. Pakistan will not relent until a just and lasting solution is secured.”
