Maulana Tariq Jamil, the famed Islamic scholar contracts Coronavirus

Well-known Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil has contracted Coronavirus here on Sunday.

Taking to Twitter, the scholar announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19 after he felt mild symptoms and was feeling down.

He informed that on the directions of the doctors he has been admitted to hospital and urged his admirers and loved ones to pray for his health.

In another tweet on Sunday, Tariq Jamil has shared a positive message for all his admirers.

He wrote, “Those who stay positive leave longer impact of their efforts.”

Earlier, Eminent religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil had been named among the most influential Muslims.

Maulana Tariq Jamil’s sermons focus on ‘self-purification, avoidance of violence, observance of Allah’s orders and pursuing the way of Prophet Muhammad.’

He had continuously named as one as of The 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world by the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in Jordan from 2013 to 2019.

Tariq Jamil was born on 1 October 1953 in Mian Channu, Pakistan. He completed primary education from Central Model School, Lahore. Jamil is an alumnus of Government College University.

He received his Islamic education from Jamia Arabia, Raiwind, where he studied Qur’an, Hadith, Sufism, logic, and Islamic jurisprudence.

In 2019, the religious scholar stood 40th of a list ranking the world’s most “influential” Muslims.
