On the directives of Lahore Deputy Commissioner Muddasir Riaz, the local administration has sealed 55 shops and eight restaurants for violating COVID-19 health protocols.

According to the details, five shops in Marble Achara Market and Terrace Café were also sealed by the assistant commissioner of Model Town. Similarly, the Cantt assistant commissioner sealed two wedding halls, eight shops and three restaurants sealed, while these were also fined Rs 46,000.

35 shops in Thokar Ada, Gulshan-e-Ravi, and Chobarjee were also sealed along with several others in Paragon Society.

Coronavirus Situation in Pakistan

Pakistan has reported 50 more deaths in the past 24 hours due to the novel coronavirus taking the national fatality toll to 8,653.

According to the Government of Pakistan portal for COVID-19, with the fresh addition of 3,047 cases in the past 24 hours, the national caseload now stands at 432,327.

As many as 4,791 people have been recovered from the dread virus in a single. So far 379,092 recoveries have been reported since the pandemic struck Pakistan.

A total of 42,596 tests were conducted across the country during this period.  Whereas 5,948,742 samples have been tested thus far.
