Pakistan International Airlines Slashes Fares For Domestic Flights

National Airline (PIA) has announced a major reduction in fares on domestic flights for the winter holidays.

According to a PIA spokesperson, a 30 per cent discount has been given on fares on all domestic flights. One-way fares on domestic flights have been reduced from 12,275 to 8,500 PKR.

A spokesperson stated that the domestic fare of PIA has been reduced from Rs 24,600 to Rs 17,000. Discounted fares will be effective from tonight at 12 am.

It was decided to lease 8 aircraft for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

The decision to lease the aircraft was taken at a meeting chaired by PIA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Air Marshal Arshad Malik.

The new aircraft for Pakistan International Airlines will be taken on a 6-year dry lease for which offers have been invited nationally and internationally.

Note that dry lease refers to a long-term procedure in which an aircraft is delivered to an airline on a monthly or annual basis without staffing, maintenance or insurance.

Weight lease, on the other hand, is a procedure in which the aircraft is delivered with crew and maintenance under a short-term procedure, while the payment is made by calculating the flight time.

According to an advertisement in national newspapers, all the eight aircraft will have to be handed over to PIA between January and December 2021.

Aircraft should have more than 170 economy seats with a short distance after 2 rows.
