Security Agencies has issued a threat alert for the opposition’s 11-party Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) public gathering on December 13 in Lahore.

According to the reports, police warned that terrorists could target Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz and other top political leadership of the opposition parties during the rally.

The police have asked the PDM leadership to cancel the Lahore public gathering owing to the security alert and in case of non-cancellation, has asked the opposition’s leadership including Maryam to take precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incident.

The political leadership has been informed about the threat alert, however, the security of the jalsagah has been tightened.

Let it be known that Pakistan Democratic Movement will be holding an anti-government rally on Sunday.

Participants of the public rally have been directed to park their vehicles some 1.5km away from the venue.

Earlier while addressing media in Lahore Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the PTI government is afraid of PDM Lahore Jalsa.

“We are not afraid of detentions, we will hold Jalsa; come what may,” said Maryam Nawaz

“People are leading this movement. It is a people’s movement. This is a movement to address peoples’ woes.”

Maryam Nawaz said that PDM will not rest till PTI leadership is ended in Pakistan. “We aim to bring the country out of the ongoing crisis.”
