PM Imran, Prince Charles discuss to strengthen ties during phone call

Prime Minister Imran Khan has on Thursday held a telephonic conversation with the Prince of Wales and discussed the ongoing Coronavirus situation across both the countries.

Prince Charles reaffirmed United Kingdom’s assistance to Pakistan during the coronavirus pandemic in a phone call with PM Imran Khan.

The Prince has expressed regret over the loss of lives in Pakistan. Also, both the leaders discussed bilateral relations among the two countries and vowed to strengthen ties.

During the crucial days amidst the pandemic, UK had provided much-needed assistance to the affected areas of Pakistan.

Moreover, the premier and Prince of Wales agreed on the need for global cooperation to combat climate change.

The Prince also approved Pakistan’s commitment to tackle global warming and stressed that the UK would support Islamabad’s move towards renewable energy.

Furthermore, Britain is co-hosting the United Nations’ climate change summit, known as COP26, with Italy next year in November.

The event was originally planned for November 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
