Despite the refusal by district administration citing the COVID-19 threat, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is insisted to hold public rally against Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) government in Mardan today.

As per today’s schedule PDM workers from Swabi, Mardan and Nowshera would gather at Gaju Khan Baba flyover. The participants of the rally would pass through different bazaars of the city and would hold the gathering at Mardan-Nowshera Road.

Who Will Address the Rally?

PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PML-N’s Maryam Nawaz, ANP’s Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, and Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Aftab Sherpao of the Qaumi Watan Party, former premier Yousaf Raza Gilani of the PPP and other leaders would address the rally.

In Case of Any ‘Unrest’

PDM politicians in this regard also added that the government would be held accountable for any unrest if it created hurdles in the way of the peaceful rally. They said that the opposition alliance had made preparations for the rally.

Mass Resignations

The Opposition alliance had earlier announced that their lawmakers will resign en masse by the end of this month from Parliament to paralyze the government and force Prime Minister Khan to call snap polls.

PDM Schedule

PDM spokesperson Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that the 11-party alliance will hold a rally in Larkana on December 27 on the eve of the death anniversary of former premier Benazir Bhutto.

The PDM had launched a campaign to remove the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. The alliance gave the government until January 31 to resign, otherwise, a long march would be held on Islamabad. The PDM had also threatened with en masse resignations of its lawmakers.
