Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability, Barrister Shahzad Akbar has been barred from interfering in the administrative affairs of the Interior Ministry, sources revealed on Tuesday.
According to the sources, “Accountability Adviser Shahzad Akbar wanted to subordinate certain matters of the Ministry, especially related to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).”
However, Prime Minister Imran Khan; according to the sources, summoned Shahzad Akbar and clarified that new interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed will be in charge of all the affairs related to his department including FIA.
In addition to this, sources also said that Sheikh Rashid will be overlooking the matters related to electronic media and Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).
