All Government-sponsored vaccination will be free of cost: Fawad Ch

On Friday, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said while responding to a person’s question on Twitter that the people of Pakistan would get government-sponsored coronavirus vaccines for free.

The Federal Minister said,

“All Government-sponsored vaccination will be free of cost…”

In another tweet, Chaudhry responded to a question by saying,

” 1.1 M Doses are for batch only we intend to import Millions of doses in coming months 2) Pvt sector is allowed to import Vaccine…. you have to store vaccine and administer also so import ll always be in batches”

When Will Pakistan Get COVID-19 Vaccine?

Dr. Nausheen Hamid, Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of National Health Services said on 7th January that by the end of this month (January), Pakistan is expected to get its first shipment of coronavirus vaccine.

China’s Sinopharm Vaccine:

Pakistan will purchase 1.2 million doses of Chinese homegrown COVID-19 vaccine, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said on 31st December.

According to the details, the science minister announced on Twitter that “The Cabinet Committee has decided to initially purchase 1.2 million doses of the vaccine from the Chinese company Sinopharm, which will be provided free of cost to frontline workers in the first quarter of 2021.”

Fawad Chaudhry added that the private sector can also import the vaccine approved internationally.
