Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior and Accountability Shahzad Akbar announced Monday to publicize Broadsheet documents on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to the details, Adviser Shahzad Akbar while addressing a presser said that the Imran Khan has directed to make Broadsheet documents public.

He said accountability is not possible without transparency. PM has given instructions over the Broadsheet matter, he said while adding that some lawyers contacted to make the document public and Pakistan received an email from Broadsheet.

He also added Pakistan is still being affected by the mistakes that former rulers made in the past.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) also took note of the broadsheet issue and on January 19 called for a report from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Auditor General and asked why and when the broadsheet services were procured. When was the contract cancelled? How much was paid?

Chairman Committee Rana Tanveer said that the allegations leveled against PAC in the cabinet meeting were rejected and the secretary would write a letter to the cabinet on the matter.

It may be recalled that the Chief Executive Officer of firm Broadsheet saga, asset recovery firm of the United Kingdom claimed that Pakistan Muslim League PML (N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif provided bribe for abandoning probe towards his overseas property.

Broadsheet CEO Kaveh Moussavi, in an interview, mentioned the corporate had flatly refused the deal provided by an individual claiming himself because the nephew of Nawaz Sharif, within the 12 months 2012, retorting that the Broadsheet didn’t negotiate with crooks.

He mentioned that, “the Sharif family has assets not only in the United Kingdom but across the globe,” including that the Sharif household required loads of rationalization about their assets of amassing these properties.

The CEO added that, “Nawaz Sharif was wrongly linking the decision in our favor with his own innocence.”
