Coronavirus in Pakistan: Active Cases toll stands at 34,049

The novel coronavirus active cases toll of Pakistan witnessed an increase on Thursday to 34,049 after 2,482 more infections reported in the past 24 hours.

According to the latest statistics by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), the fresh inclusion of the cases took the national tally of confirmed cases to 495,075.

NCOC said that 50 more people succumbed to the disease during this period, whereas the death toll from the infection has soared to 10,511.

So far AJK has reported 8,416 cases and 232 deaths, Balochistan reported 18,300 cases and 186 deaths; GB confirmed 4,874 cases and 101 deaths, Islamabad recorded 38,687 cases and 434 deaths; KPK confirmed 60,229 cases and 1,702 deaths, whereas Punjab reported 142,835 cases and 4,203 deaths and Sindh confirmed 221,734 cases and 3,653 deaths.

On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister’s Special Assistant on Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the opposition alliance of PDM is responsible for spreading corona by holding public meetings.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has managed to defeat the novel coronavirus.

In a statement, Usman Buzdar said that he has recuperated from the deadly coronavirus, adding that his latest test for COVID-19 has returned negative. “Due to the grace of Allah Almighty and the prayers of people, I have recuperated from the COVID-19,” the chief minister added.

He urged the masses to wear masks and adopt all the SOPs standard operating procedure (SOP) to keep themselves safe from the deadly virus.

Back on December 21st, 2020 Usman Buzdar had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
