As Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood started trending on Twitter after his announcement about educational institutions’ reopening, students seem disappointed that they did not have such expectations from their Education Minister whom they have appreciated since the closure of educational institutions.

Following the negative reactions by students, Shafqat Mahmood expressed his surprise on twitter saying, “Everyone should welcome the opportunity to study and be among friends”.

“It surprises me when I see the negative reaction of some students to school/college/Universities reopening. Education is a gateway to the future. Also Education years are also the best time of ones life. Everyone should welcome the opportunity to study and be among friends,” his tweet read.

There are various trends in this regard on social networking site Twitter, while his name is the top trend and most of the users are also expressing their displeasure in the form of memes, which suggests that students may Unhappy with the decision.

Federal Minister Education Shafqat Mahmood on Monday clarified that no student in the new academic year of 2021 will be promoted without exams.

He took to Twitter and said, “Inter provincial Education Ministers meeting held today. Health situation was carefully considered and it was decided that classes appearing for Board and Cambridge exam that is 9,10,11,12, O and A level, will reopen on Jan 18.  Classes pre-school to 8 will reopen on Jan 25.”
