KMC postpones anti-encroachment operations in Karachi’s Saddar area

The anti-encroachment personnel of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) decided not to launch an operation against encroachments near Empress Market in the Saddar area of Karachi.

As per the details, the anti-encroachment was postponed after successful negotiations between DC South Irshad Ali and shopkeepers of Empress Market and Bara Market. The shopkeepers have been given a few days to vacate the area after the five hours long negotiations.

KMC’s anti-encroachment personnel also left the area while the shopkeepers ended their protests.

Anti-Encroachment drive continue at Karachi Mehmoodabad Nullah

Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and other concerned departments resumed demolition of soft encroachments in the area of Mehmoodabad in Karachi on 5th January 2021.

According to the details, municipal officials continued an anti-encroachment drive along the Mehmoodabad nullah. Sources said that concrete encroachments would also be removed including partial demolition of 57 houses built at the encroached land after Thursday this week.

The municipal officials on Monday (yesterday) removed structures on about a 7.5-kilometer area in the anti-encroachment drive along Mehmoodabad nullah.

The extended and encroached areas and walls of houses and shops were either cleared away or demolished in the anti-encroachment drive.
