The accountability court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Shahbaz Sharif’s daughter Rabia Imran and son-in-law Imran Ali Yousaf in Saaf Pani supplementary reference.
According to the details, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for not appearing despite the court order.
The court ordered the two to be arrested and produced on January 23. Accountability Court Judge Amjad Nazir Chaudhry heard the reference.
NAB has filed reference stating that the accused has caused damage to the national exchequer.
According to NAB, 116 filtration plants in Bahawalpur charged exorbitant prices, causing a loss to the national exchequer.
The NAB had started investigations in the scam after receiving complaints of awarding an illegal contract for the installation of 116 water filtration plants allegedly at exorbitant rates that caused a collective loss amounting to Rs 345.282 million to the national kitty.
Today, Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz were produced in the accountability court in Lahore on Wednesday in connection with a money laundering case.
During the case hearing, Shehbaz Sharif claimed that he as the chief executive of the province first unearthed the scam regarding the Chiniot mines project.
Shehbaz Sharif said the contract for the Chiniot mines project was given without bidding to a man who was an American national.
The court later adjourned the hearing till January 12.
