Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that provision of quality health services to the masses is the top priority of the government.
According to details, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which the progress in the provision of health cards in Punjab was reviewed while 100% of the population of the province was informed about the approval for the provision of universal health coverage.
The meeting was briefed on the progress made so far in providing health cards to 100 per cent population of Punjab by the end of this year while a detailed briefing was given regarding the achievement of targets.
During the briefing, it was said that by the end of this financial year, health cards would be provided to the entire population of 7 districts of Punjab while by December 2021, health cards would be provided to all the districts of Punjab.
Presiding over the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated the progress made in the provision of health cards to the people of Punjab.
PM Imran Khan said that unfortunately in the past the health system did not pay attention to the protection of the poor while the provision of health cards would enable the poor and deserving people to benefit from quality healthcare facilities.
Asad Umar, Dr Faisal Sultan, Dr Yasmeen Rashid and senior officers attended the meeting while Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar, Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Javan Bakht attended the meeting through video link.
