Ahsan Iqbal demands inquiry into ‘abduction’ of NA-75 presiding officers

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday demanded an inquiry into the alleged ‘abduction’ of presiding officers of several polling stations.

Addressing media in Daska, he has also welcomed the decision of returning officers to withhold results of NA-75. He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf tried to rig the election. He claimed that poling was stopped for several hours in some polling stations.

Moreover, he also accused PTI leader Firdous Ashiq Awan of trying to change the election results. He said that even PTI workers condemned the attitude of Awan. He also criticized the returning officer for resisting alleged government pressure.

PML-N spokesperson Marriyam Aurangzeb said that Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered the abduction of election commission staff. She said that the FIR of the incident should be filed against Imran Khan and CM Usman Buzdar.

PTI has won NA-75 Daska by-poll by 7,827 votes

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Saturday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has won the NA-75 Daska by-poll by 7,827 votes.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote that the election rules were violated in NA-75 and valuable lives were lost. She asked that why the presiding officers delayed the result.

Firdous Ashiq Awan added that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Ahsan Iqbal, Javed Latif, and Atta Tarar held the returning officer hostage to withhold the result.
