Pakistan has reported 871 recoveries from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours taking the national tally of recovered patients to 545,277.

According to the national dashboard, more 23 deaths were reported during this period and 1,176 new cases emerged after conducting 38,920 tests.

The current national death toll hit 12,860, whereas after new infections the total number of confirmed cases is 579,973.

The active cases toll stands at 21,836.

With more than 258,000 positive cases, Sindh remained the Covid-19 epicenter in Pakistan. The province recorded a total of 4,343 deaths.

With 171,349 cases and 5,350 deaths, Covid-19 remained a nightmare for the Punjab province as well for much of the past 12 months. So far, Punjab has received 70,000 vaccines from the centre. In the second phase, it is expected to receive 1.5 million vaccines.

Balochistan has recorded 19,045 and 200 deaths, AJK reported 10,198 and 297 deaths, 4,956 cases have been reported in Gilgit Baltistan so far with 102 deaths, and Islamabad reported 44,259 infections and 496 casualties, whereas 72,162 cases were reported in KPK with 2,072.
