The session court has issued a written order of the previous hearing against singer Meesha Shafi in the defamation case.

As per the details, the court has summoned actress Iffat Omar. The court has also summoned Meesha Shafi and other witnesses.

According to details, actress Iffat Omar did not appear before the court for testimony.

Meesha Shafi’s lawyer appealed to the court to adjourn the hearing. However, Ali Zafar’s lawyer did not oppose the appeal.

Court has adjourned the hearing till 10th February after approving the appeal.

The written order was issued by additional session judge Zafar Iqbal Ranjha.

Senior actor Iffat Omar was cross-examined by the counsel for singer Ali Zafar in wake of the defamation case in December, 2020. Iffat Omar was a witness of singer Meesha Shafi.

‘Say it all’ host Iffat Omar responded to the questions of Advocate Umar Gill. She said that her first project with Shafi’s mother Saba Hameed was a PTV drama serial Nangay Paoon in 1993.

The counsel also showed a clip in which Omar claimed that she had hugged Rahat Kazmi repeatedly during a shoot. However, Omar called it a joke. 

Moreover, the ‘Haiwan’ actress was asked another question to which she said she could not recall correctly whether Zafar filed a complaint with the FIA against her before or after her testimony in the suit.

Harassment case: Supreme Court admits Meesha Shafi’s appeal

The Supreme Court approved leave in Meesha Shafi’s harassment case appeal for hearing against Lahore High Court’s decision. The SC adjourned the case for an infinite period.

As per the details, the Apex Court has admitted Meesha’s appeal against the Lahore High Court ruling for a preliminary hearing.

The Supreme Court ordered a suo-moto notice on the definition of “sexual harassment”. The Court has issued notice to singer Ali Zafar and Advocate General Punjab.
