Health Department of Sindh has said that nearly 28000 health workers have been vaccinated against the Coronavirus across the province.
According to a media report, a total of 27,842 health care providers were vaccinated against Covid-19 since February 3, when the national drive was launched.
The report said that the total strength of healthcare personnel in the province is 175,000 out of whom the department has identified 54,000 as “the frontline force”.
Meanwhile, Pakistan recorded 5,536 recoveries from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours dropping the actives cases toll to 25,649.
National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), in its latest statistics revealed that, the country recorded 58 more deaths due to the killer virus in a single day, soaring the overall death toll to 12,276.
A total of 37,115 tests were conducted across the country during this period. The positivity rate stands at 3.4 per cent.
With the fresh inclusion of 1262 cases in the past 24 hours, the national tally of confirmed cases spiked to 561,625.
NCOC chief Asad Umar said earlier that registration of coronavirus vaccination for senior citizens i.e. individuals who are 65 or above years old will be initiated by the upcoming week.
Asad Umar said that people who have already registered to receive Covid-19 vaccinations jabs for next week will be vaccinated in the beginning of March.
