Pakistan COVID-19 Update: 5,536 more recovered, Active Cases toll down to 25,649
Pakistan witnessed 5,536 recoveries from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours dropping the actives cases toll to 25,649.
According to the latest statistics by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), the country recorded 58 more deaths due to the killer virus in a single day, soaring the overall death toll to 12,276.
A total of 37,115 tests were conducted across the country during this period. The positivity rate stands at 3.4 per cent.
With the fresh inclusion of 1262 cases in the past 24 hours, the national tally of confirmed cases spiked to 561,625.
On the other hand, another doctor in Karachi succumbed to coronavirus on Friday. Professor Asadullah, the former head of the surgeries department of the Jinnah hospital breathed his last while battling with the deadly virus.
Director Jinnah Hospital, Dr Semi Jamali confirmed the news. She paid rich tributes to the deceased doctor for his services in the health sector.
Last month, Dr Saleh Soomro had lost his life due to the dread virus in Karachi. The deceased, Dr. Saleh Soomro was head of the physiology department at a private medical university in Karachi. He had been undergoing treatment for the virus at the Karachi Expo Centre isolation ward.
