Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Wednesday that Pakistan has transformed its geopolitical priorities into geo-economic priorities.
He said that Pakistan is standing side by side with Sri Lanka as a partner for the development of human resources, security cooperation, fighting terrorism, development, and prosperity.
The Sri Lankan Foreign Minister said on this occasion that PM Imran Khan’s visit will help in strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi later briefed the media about PM’s visit to Sri Lanka. He said that during the visit we exchanged views on the enhancement of bilateral trade and investment with Sri Lanka.
He added that defense and security cooperation to end the menace of terrorism are of equal importance to both Pakistan and Sri Lanka and we have offered that country a credit line of fifteen million dollars in this regard.
Apart from that, Qureshi said that they have decided to give one hundred scholarships to Sri Lankan students in the top medical institutes of Pakistan.
