Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has on Sunday (today) said that Pakistan’s improved relations with several countries of the world shows the country is progressing under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s leadership.
While addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Sheikh Rasheed said Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh will “win the Senate election.”
“Abdul Hafeez uplifted Pakistan’s declining economy since he took office,” he said, adding that he went to the best universities of the world, including Oxford and Cambridge, and earned a doctorate degree in economics.
The minister further added that Abdul Hafeez converted a $20 billion current account deficit to surplus through his efforts and supported Pakistan’s declining economy.
The PTI gave Abdul Hafeez a ticket for Islamabad’s general seat in the Senate election, and his nomination papers were duly approved by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
He went on to add that online visa services have been started across Pakistan to welcome foreign tourists in the country. He said validity of passport has been increased to 10 years.
Answering a question, Sheikh Rasheed rejected any kind of differences among the PTI ranks.
Replying to a question regarding modernizing Islamabad Police, he said Eagle Squad of the ICT police is being established in the federal capital to curb crimes in the city.
The Eagle Squad will be provided with 100 motorcycles and modern cars to chase and apprehend anti-social elements, Sheikh Rasheed said.
‘Hamza Shahbaz’s release makes no difference’
Answering a question, the interior minsiter said that if PML-N’s Hamza Shahbaz is released from prison, it will not make a difference to the PTI.
“If the court decides to release someone from jails, then how can I say that it took the wrong decision?” Rasheed said.
