On Sunday, a delegation of the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will meet the leadership of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) ahead of Senate Elections 2021.
According to the details, the PTI delegation members including Asad Umar, Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Fouzia Hameed and other lawmakers will arrive in Karachi to meet MQM-P leaders at the political party Bahadurabad headquarters. The meeting is expected to start at 1:00 pm.
Media reports said that the MQM-P leaders headed by Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui will hold a meeting with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf delegation to discuss strategy for upcoming Senate polls.
Both political parties are likely to finalize the formula regarding the candidates of the coalition partners in the polls, said sources, adding that they will also discuss steps to curb horse-trading of the Upper House candidates.
In addition to this, the PTI delegation will also visit Raja House to meet Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leaders to hold consultations over the strategy for Senate polls.
On the other hand, the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has assured a complete support of his party to the PPP leader and former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, who is joint candidate of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) for the upcoming senate elections from Islamabad.
This came after Nawaz Sharif held telephonic conversation with former president Asif Ali Zardari as a part of the consultation on formulating a joint strategy of the PDM for the upcoming Senate elections and PDM’s long march.
