Let it be known that the Islamabad police fired tear gas shells to disperse the protesting government employees at D-Chowk. The protesters asked the government to increase their basic salaries.
Many protesters were arrested during the protest. The government servants had announced the protest two weeks ago.
Meanwhile an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad today sent four arrested lawyers to jail on judicial remand in the case pertaining to attack on the Islamabad High Court. The lawyers had stopped hearings in all courts, held IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah hostage and vandalized the high court’s building.
