‘Voting by show of hands is the only way to end horse-trading,’ Says Shibli Faraz
Federal Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz on Wednesday said that the government wants to bring its people to the Senate according to their qualifications.
According to the details, while addressing media in Islamabad, Senator Shibli Faraz said that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) will try its best efforts to end the culture of horse trading in the upcoming Senate Elections 2021. He said that those who take and give money for personal gain come to the Senate.
Shibli Faraz said that the ruling PTI was struggling to restore the sanctity of the vote, voting by show of hands is the best possible way to make transparent Senate elections.
Shibli Faraz said that Prime Minister Imran Khan believes in transparency and merit of vote, truth always prevails over lies, Imran Khan wants truthful people to represent the people in the Senate.
Faraz hoped that the Supreme Court’s verdict would be in favor of the truth, adding that history would hold the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) accountable. There is no contradiction in our words and deeds.
He said the government is committed to end the obsolete system of buying and selling of votes and give chance to capable candidates in elections.
He said the opposition alliance believes in politics of buying and selling and it is also representing the status quo. The Information Minister said that electronic voting will make the voting system transparent. PML-N humiliated us by opening 4 constituencies and we showed positive attitude.
Shibli Faraz said that Prime Minister Imran Khan accepted the challenge of re-polling at 20 polling stations in Daska because he is not a ‘corrupt man.’
“Imran Khan and our government will end outdated traditions,” he added. People who come to parliament with money have nothing to do with democracy.
Shibli Faraz said that Imran Khan wants democracy and transparency in this country, Shibli Faraz said.
