Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mian Javed Latif seems to be facing trouble as a case has been filed against him for making a controversial statement.
According to details, the case has been filed on the complaint of Lahore’s Township area resident. According to the FIR, Javed Latif has reportedly hurled insults at the state institutions and the government.
The FIR also states that Latif’s statements sowed the seeds of hatred between PPP and PML-N workers.
“The MNA has violated the national and constitutional laws by passing these statements against the state and government institutions.”
According to sources, he has been charged under sections 120B [Punishment of criminal conspiracy], 153A [Promoting enmity between different groups], 505(1)B [Statements conducing to public mischief], and 506 [Punishment for criminal intimidation] of the Pakistan Penal Code.
It is pertinent to mention that Javed Latif had earlier stated that if something happens to PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz, they will not chant the ‘Pakistan Khappay’ slogan.
In a show, he had said, “It is the matter of a leader’s life,” “I am saying it beforehand when Benazir Bhutto realized the threats to her life, she took names and after that the tragedy took place.”
