CEO of PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik has said that flights are being launched to promote tourism and ease the travel facilities of the local population.
According to details, Air Marshal Arshad Malik called on Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed in which the flight operation at Saidu Sharif Airport in Swat was discussed.
During the meeting, arrangements for the first flight have been finalized.
On the occasion, the CEO of PIA said that PIA was resuming operations at Saidu Sharif Airport after a gap of 17 years.
He said that senior government, civil and military personalities would participate in the first flight of the flight operation at Saidu Sharif Airport.
Earlier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced discounts in fares for domestic travels after the beginning of the spring season.
PIA has revealed the discounted rates for flights to Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore.
As per the new announcement, PIA is now offering discounted fares while carrying 20-kilogram luggage for Rs 7,500 for one side. On 40-kg luggage, passengers will have to pay Rs 8,500.
The new initiative will come into effect immediately. PIA spokesperson said that the fares have been decreased to promote tourism and local people during the spring season.
