Pakistan has recorded 1,441 recoveries from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

According to the latest statistics of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the national tally of recovered patients now stands at 558,210. Moreover, the deadly virus claimed 38 more lives and infected 1,714 more people during the said period. The total count of active cases is 17,352 and the positivity rate stands at 4.48 per cent. Whereas 1,545 patients are still in critical condition.

NCOC said that with the fresh inclusion of the infections in the country the national tally of cases jumped to 588,728. Since the outbreak, the virus has claimed 13,166 in the country. In the past 24 hours,  38,200 tests were conducted across the country.

On the other hand, the World Health Organization has reaffirmed its support to Pakistan for strengthening primary health care in the country. The assurance was given by the Country Representative of the Organization in Pakistan, Dr Palitha Mahipala while addressing a press conference in the federal capital.

Dr Palitha Mahipala said the WHO is providing support to government of Pakistan for expansion of universal health coverage by investing in health systems. He also assured complete and unflinching support to the government in implementing its agenda to achieve the target of Universal Health Care by 2030.
