The Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday rejected Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s (PTI) petition challenging the Senate win of PPP’s Yousaf Raza Gillani.

According to the details, the Election Commission today rejected the request made by PTI to stop the notification of Yousaf Raza Gilani’s victory and issued notices to the parties.

The Election Commission heard the petition of disqualification case of Yousaf Raza Gilani and withholding of notification. A four-member committee of the top electoral body heard the petition.

During the hearing, Ali Haider Gilani’s videos were presented on which Barrister Ali Zafar said that in the video Ali Haider is telling the way to spoil the vote.

Barrister Ali Zafar said that a video was made to expose them, on which the Member of KP Election Commission said that they also wanted to call the MNAs to ask them why they met.

It may be recalled that the joint candidate of Pakistan Democratic Movement Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani defeated the government’s nominee for the seat, triggering a strong reaction from the PTI.

Prime Minister Imran Khan openly accused the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) of using money to influence the Senate election.
