Prime Minister Imran Khan will distribute residential flats and houses to the labour class under the Workers Welfare Fund.
According to the details, Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed said that more than 1000 flats and 500 houses have been completed under the Project.
He said the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of another 1,500 flats today.
He said for the first time, workers and labourers are being provided with their own roof on a mortgage basis.
He said that under the scheme, houses will be distributed among widows and disabled, besides labourers on ownership rights to those who are earning less than Rs 0.5 million.
Back in February, Prime Minister Imran Khan in his address called for investing in sustainable agriculture development, ensuring adequate and fair prices of food products, applying new technologies and rethinking patterns of food consumption and production.
He also shared with participants of the inaugural session of the Governing Council of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) held in Rome, Italy, that Pakistan’s experiences and efforts to mitigate the sufferings of poor people including the historic $8 billion relief package given by his government during the coronavirus pandemic.
