Motorway Rape Case

Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) will announce the reserved verdict of the Motorway rape case on Saturday (today).

As per the details, ATC had reserved the verdict of the case on March 18. During the hearing, statements of 40 witnesses were recorded.

The case was heard by presiding Judge Arshad Hussain in Camp Jail. The prosecution of final arguments will be carried out today.

What happened during the case trial?

During the case trial, the victim appeared in jail along with police to identify the suspects. The prosecution had claimed that they found the DNA of the two suspects.

Moreover, suspect Abid Malhi had confessed that he raped the woman twice whereas Shafqat raped her once.

What had happened?

It is pertinent to mention that a mother of two was robbed and gang-raped at gunpoint on the Lahore-Sialkot motorway in the Gujjarpura area.

She was reportedly traveling in her car and some unknown stopped her. The culprits took valuables and cash of the victim after rapping the woman and escaped.

The details of the incident revealed that a woman over 30 years of age, a resident of Defense Housing Society, Lahore, along with her two children, got stuck on the motorway at around 1 am when her car ran out of petrol.

Meanwhile, the woman had also called a relative, who had asked the woman to call the motorway helpline while he himself had left to reach the spot.

However, while the woman was trying to arrange for help, two men came and took her and her children (under the age of 8) at gunpoint to a nearby field. They raped the woman in front of the children, after which the men took away cash and valuables.
