Pakistan’s representative to United Nations Munir Akram said on Sunday that there can be no sustainable development without justice, rule of law, and control of crime.

Addressing virtually at the 14th UN Crime Congress, he said that change in labor and migration laws is also critical in addressing the demand for the services of human traffickers.

Moreover, he added that coordinated approaches to prevent and combat transnational organized crime are critical to recover better from the crisis and make progress towards all of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Furthermore, Munir Akram also said that the impact of coronavirus on transnational organized crime has been significant like all other aspects of daily lives.

Above all, he said related to coronavirus that there is a need for effective action against falsified and fake medical products and to strengthen international cooperation in this regard.
