’Pakistan Army greatly values friendly relations with UK,’ COAS

Commander Strategic Command UK, General Sir Patrick Nicholas Yardley Monrad Sanders called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at General Headquarters (GHQ), today.

According to the media wing of Pakistan Military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of professional and mutual interest and regional security issues were discussed during the meeting.

UK Defense official and Army Chief also during the meeting agreed on strengthening bilateral security and defense cooperation between the two armies.

The Visiting dignitary acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’s sincere efforts in fight against terrorism and efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, especially the Afghan Peace Process.

COAS thanked the visiting dignitary. On the occasion, Army Chief said that Pakistan Army greatly values its friendly relations with the UK.

Earlier today at the virtual ceremony organized by Pakistani Mission in the New York to mark Pakistan Day, President UN General Assembly Volkan Bozkir applauded Pakistan’s efforts for peace and security in the region and the world.

In his remarks, Chinese Permanent Representative to the UN Zhang Jun said his country is proud to be Pakistan’s Iron brother. He also appreciated Pakistan’s contribution to world peace and development.

During the session, Saudi Permanent Representative to the UN Abdallah Y Al Mouallimi also said relationship between Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are deep rooted and both the countries are determined to further flourish and strengthen their ties.

Turkish Permanent Representative to the UN Feridun Sinirlioglu in his remarks, said his country will continue to stand with its Pakistani brothers and sisters in all circumstances.
