According to Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. Shaban moon has been sighted in Pakistan and Shab-e-Barat would be observed on Monday, March 29.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee met today for the sighting of the moon of Shaban, 1442 AH.
Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, chairman of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee presided over the meeting.
The Meteorological Department (PMD) had earlier stated that there is a major uncertainty of sighting the new Shaban moon on the evening of March 14.
Saudi Arabia has declared that the moon for the month of Shaban was not sighted in the country.
However, Sunday would be the last day of Rajab in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, chairman of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee had been removed from his position.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee had been reconstituted by the government.
According to the notification issued by the government, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad had been elected as the new chairman of the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
According to sources, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has 19 members, including Raghib Naeemi, Hussain Akbar, Maulana Fazlur Rahim, Dr Yaseen Zafar, Mufti Iqbal Chishti, Dr Mufti Ali Asghar, Faisal Ahmed, Syed Ali Qarar Naqvi, Mufti Fazl Jameel, Hafiz Abdul Ghafoor. , Yusuf Kashmiri, Qari Mirullah, Habibullah Chishti and Mufti Zameer.
