Pakistan Defence Production Minister on Wednesday while offering military training to Qatari armed forces said that the military institutions were open to soldiers belonging to the Arab state.
According to the details, the Minister for Defence Production, Zubaida Jalal Khan met with the Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Islamabad.
During the meeting, Zubaida Jalal Khan said that Qatar is a confident and trustworthy friend of Pakistan and our military institutions are open for the Qatari Armed Forces to avail maximum training facilities.
Minister Zubaida Jalal Khan said that Pakistan and Qatar need to work closely to further extend bilateral cooperation beyond the economic domain to defence, military exercises, training of personnel and joint ventures.
The Qatari ambassador reassured his government’s commitment to fully cooperate with Pakistan and its people to further expand bilateral ties between the two countries.
Earlier in February, the H.E Dr. Mutlaq Bin Majed Al Qahtani, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ.
According to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting matters of mutual interest, regional security situation, cooperation in various fields and facilitation of reconciliation process in Afghanistan were discussed in detail.
COAS reiterated that both countries share a great history of cordial relations and a deep-rooted spirit of brotherhood, which has transformed into an enduring partnership.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region and pledged to keep working for better relations between the two countries.
Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was also present in the meeting.
