The management of Oscar, the most prestigious award in the film world, has shortlisted 366 feature films for this year’s Oscar Awards, including the film ‘Funny Boy’ starring Canadian-born Pakistani actor Ali Kazmi.

According to reports, this is the first time since the 1970 awards that such a large number of feature films have been shortlisted for the Oscars.

This year’s Oscars will be held on April 25 and nominations will be announced on March 15.

However, the Variety report said that the shortlisted films did not include ‘Zindagi Tamasha’ and ‘Fanny Boy’ but the list released later included Fanny Boy’s name.

Ali Kazmi announced the news regarding his film on Instagram and said that it is an honour for him.

The actor wrote in his post that ‘our film is available on Netflix and CBC Gym’, and at the same time he thanked the film team.

The story of “Funny Boy” is from 1970 to 1980, but the author has described it in such a way that it still seems to be the story of a new era.

Pakistani-Canadian actor Ali Kazmi, who has starred in a number of English and Urdu films, has played the role of the father of a boy who became a homosexual due to unwarranted restrictions at home in ‘Funny Boy’. ۔

The film was shot in Sri Lanka and due to the film depicting Sri Lankan civil war and politics, it also faced difficulties in shooting and it took a few years to complete the film.
