Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Monday denied the reports of ATR planes being grounded.
PIA Spokesperson in a statement today said, ‘All PIA ATR aircrafts are part of the flight operations, and not a single aircraft has been grounded. They perfectly safe and airworthy.’
According to the Spokesperson, all the reports related to the grounding of PIA’s ATR aircrafts are false and contains no authentication.
The Spokesperson added that all ATR aircrafts are operating their normal flights. ‘PIA has no plans to ground its ATR aircraft or any other aircraft by August 31, 2021,’ PIA spokesperson said.
Spokesperson said that ‘False news tarnishes PIA’s reputation, and the management reserves the right to take legal action against all false claims.’
The Spokesperson also commented about the future energy saving plans of the national flag carrier. ‘PIA is planning to add low fuel aircrafts in its fleet,’ said the Spokesperson, adding that, ‘Induction of new aircrafts or replacing the old ones is necessary to expand aviation business.’
It is worth mentioning here that, according to a media report, a PIA official informed the Sindh High Court (SHC) on March 19 that all six ATR aircraft of the national flag carrier would be grounded by August 3, 2021.
