Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday claimed that the presiding officer in the Senate elections declared results of his own choice.

Addressing a ceremony in Hyderabad today, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the joint candidate of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) won with a clear victory in the Chairman Senate elections.

Bilawal Bhutto said that valid votes given to the joint candidate of PDM were rejected by the presiding officer.

The PPP chairman said PDM has defeated the government on every forum. Results of by-elections are proof that the nation stands with us.

He claimed that the PDM candidate in Senate elections got 49 votes and the government’s candidate earned 48 votes. However, the results were changed.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement will hold an important meeting tomorrow in which the next course against the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Government will be decided.

In addition to this, Bilawal Bhutto said that 0.1 million trees will be planted in Hyderabad under the tree plantation campaign.

It should be noted here that the presiding officer election for Senate chairman, Muzaffar Hussain Shah had dismissed the Opposition’s criticism over 7 votes that he rejected.

He maintained that rejected votes were marked incorrectly — with the stamp placed directly on former premier Yousaf Raza Gillani’s name rather than in the empty space next to it.
