Punjab government files first case over violation of coronavirus SOPs

Punjab government has filed the first case over violation of Standard operating procedures (SOPs) enforced to curb the spread of coronavirus.

As per the details, a person has been accused in Lahore of not wearing a face mask.

The administration has warned that public transport carrying people without face masks will be closed.

People will be detained and can be jailed for six months if they do not wear the masks, according to Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Usman.

Earlier, National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) in a meeting decided to increase restrictions of activities contributing to a sharp increase in covid positivity.

Federal Minister for planning Asad Umar announced in a tweet amid the meeting. He wrote that provincial & ICT administrations were also directed to tighten implementation of SOPs and a crackdown on violations that are taking place.
