Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered the demolition of illegally constructed chambers of lawyers in Islamabad in Sector F-8.

As per the details, the decision has been taken by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed regarding the demolition of chambers. Justice Gulzar Ahmed has ordered to vacate the football ground. Hamid Khan has been ordered to vacate the ground.

Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed raised the question that on what bases should the demolition be stopped. He also said that the lawyers can construct somewhere else to practice.

The court also rejected the plea for more time until some alternative arrangements are made.

Earlier, Supreme Court heard the request against the demolition of illegal chambers of lawyers on Friday.

Justice Gulzar Ahmed said, “The court is well aware of the conduct of lawyers who pass inappropriate remarks and do something wrong whenever they get together. They should not compromise their dignity. Lawyers work against judiciary despite being a part of it.”

“There is no justification of construction of chambers on public land as they are considered personal property of lawyers. How can the bar association lease chambers? Who gave the authority for construction?”
