The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has sought details of election expenses from all the elected candidates of the Senate.

According to the details, a statement issued by the Election Commission said that the notification of victory of those who do not submit their election expenditure statements would be stopped.

The Election Commission said that the notification of victory of the elected senators will be issued before March 11.

The Senate elections ended with Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) emerging as the top victor with 26 seats, followed by PPP with 20.

Victory for PTI, however, was bittersweet, as in the contest between both parties for the Islamabad general seat, PPP’s Yousuf Raza Gillani defeated PTI’s, Hafeez Shaikh.

The meeting will take place at Prime Minister’s (PM) House. It will discuss matters pertaining to post Senate election 2021 and the overall political situation.

Furthermore, in a major development, Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to take a vote of confidence from the National Assembly (NA).
