A summary has been sent to the Prime Minister for approval of the appointment of Chief of Air Staff.
According to the details, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan will hand over the charge to new chief on March 18. The change of command will take place on the same day at the Air Headquarters.
The four senior most officers recommended in the summary include names of Air Marshal Haseeb Paracha, Air Marshal Noman Ali, Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar and Air Marshal Javad Saeed.
It may be recalled that the government had appointed Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan as the Chief of Pakistan Air Force in 2018. He took over the command after the retirement of Sohail Aman.
Mujahid Anwar Khan was commissioned in December 1983 in the GDP branch of the Pakistan Air Force.
During his illustrious career, he commanded a fighter squadron, a flying wing, two operational air bases PAF Base Shahbaz and PAF Base Mushaf and a regional air command.
He is a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School, Command and Staff College, Jordan and National Defence University, Islamabad.
Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan holds a master’s degree in War Studies and Defence Management. In recognition of his meritorious services, he has been awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military).
