Advisor to PM, Babar Awan tests positive for COVID-19

Advisor to the Prime Minister Imran Khan on Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Babar Awan has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

According to the details, Babar Awan confirmed about contracting the virus in his tweet on Friday.

He wrote:

I have just been tested Covid positive. Experiencing mild symptoms and in high spirits. I have quarantined myself at home and will continue my official duties from there. Please wear masks and keep distance. May Allah bless us all.

Last month, PTI ministers Fawad Chaudhry, Shibli Faraz, and Mahmood Khan tested negative for COVID-19. The ministers had to undergo a COVID-19 test after PM Imran Khan tested positive for the virus a day ago. Subsequently, all people who had had close contact with the Prime Minister were advised to get tested.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry in his tweet said that his coronavirus test was conducted as per the proposed procedure, and once again, the result turned out to be negative. He also prayed to God to keep everyone safe from the virus.

Coronavirus Situation in Pakistan:

As per the latest statistics of National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), Pakistan during the period of 24 hours recorded 83 new fatalities and 5,234 infections related to the novel coronavirus.

With the addition of fresh infections, the national tally of confirmed cases hit 678,165 whereas the national death toll jumped to 14,613.
