Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are based on brotherhood and love, adding that any nefarious attempt to sour relations between the two countries could not succeed.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Said Al-Maliki on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry, issues of mutual interest including relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and the alleged killing of a Saudi diplomat in Karachi in 2011 were discussed during the meeting.
Talking on the occasion, the Home Minister said that the killing of a Saudi diplomat in Pakistan was the worst act of terrorism, apparently aimed at spoiling Pak-Saudi relations, adding that the accused involved in the terrorist incident could not escape the law. We will definitely punish the accused.
He said that any nefarious attempt to sour Pak-Saudi relations could not succeed, adding that relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were based on mutual brotherhood and love and there was a relationship of trust between the people of the two countries. The Home Minister also extended best wishes to the Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques. Home Secretary Yousuf Naseem Khokhar was also present in the meeting.
