Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday visited Fauji Foundation Headquarters in Rawalpindi, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement.
According to the media wing of Pakistan military, General Qamar Javed Bajwa was briefed about the ongoing and future plans of the Fauji Foundation.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa appreciated the performance of the Foundation and its commitment to provide quality services.
During the visit, the Army Chief inaugurated the 100-bed hospital and the Foundation University Institute School of Nursing.
More About Fauji Foundation
Fauji Foundation was established as a charitable trust in 1954. It is being operated on a completely self-sustaining basis. It channels approximately 80% of the profits from commercial ventures into social protection programs that serve a beneficiary population representing approximately 5% of the country’s population.
Spending more than Rs. 31 billion since inception on welfare, the Foundation provides services in the areas of healthcare, education, educational stipends, technical and vocational training.
In addition to this, over 2.29 million patients treated in 2010 through the FF Healthcare System. Around 45000 students are enrolled in the FF Education System. As per the data, approximately 55000 educational stipends are dispersed each year whereas around 15,000 individuals are currently enrolled in Vocational & Technical Training Centers.
